Jennifer Chen has been studying Chinese martial arts under UK Shaolin Temple for ten years. Jennifer’s training focuses on traditional and modern Kung Fu Forms and Weapons. Her specialism is Shaolin traditional forms, Chan Buddhist practices, and philosophy. Jennifer’s current focus continues to develop and innovate all aspects of traditional Kung Fu practices, and Chan Buddhism, and philosophy.
Jennifer performs regularly at Kung Fu demonstrations, shows, and events; including Kung Fu stage shows, and in a Lion Dance Troupe. Jennifer has also competed in a number of Kung Fu Competitions and enjoys competing in traditional forms.
Jennifer has undertaken a number of excursions to China to learn more about Chinese martial arts and culture. During such trips, Jennifer trained on a full time basis with Shaolin Temple Masters, and visited some of China’s most significant historical sites. These experiences influence Jennifer’s goal in developing her Kung Fu practices, and progress new ways to explore Chan Buddhism.
Jennifer is an administrator for UK Shaolin Temple and supports the organisation’s operations. Jennifer is also undertaking a postgraduate research degree in Religious Studies under the University of Winchester with the aim to complete a doctorate degree.
