Shi Hengliang is a 35th Generation Shaolin warrior and disciple of Shi Yanmin.
Shi Hengliang is Matthew Bindon’s Shaolin Temple name. Shi Hengliang has dedicated over two decades of his life towards learning and teaching Shaolin Kung Fu. For last past 6 years, Shi Hengliang has altered his focus to study Chan Buddhist philosophy and traditional Shaolin Kung Fu with Shi Yanmin.
Shi Hengliang started training in Kung Fu when he was 14 years old. He began his training with Long Fist Kung Fu and Chinese Kickboxing (San Da). Shi Hengliang has held a firm commitment to his training since the beginning and he believes that it an important part of a balanced lifestyle.
In 2011 Shi Hengliang travelled to the Shaolin Temple in China to experience and study Chan Buddhist philosophy and traditional Shaolin Kung Fu. A year later, Shi Hengliang went to the North Shaolin Temple in China to continue his studies. During this trip, his discipleship ceremony took place, this marked the beginning of his discipleship with Shi Yanmin. Shi Hengliang currently assists Shi Yanmin in teaching and developing Chan Buddhism in the UK.
